Dublin

The Streetball Ireland team won the SBN Dublin Qualifer this past weekend and sealed their place in the Finals on Auguest the 2nd. Thr SBI team for the day was Big Shane, Jago, Phil Taylor , Conor Ahenert, American Pat and Keith Ryan. The team started the day by playing the other favorites the spartans who has Suah Williams from St. Vincents and David from Rathmines. After a close start SBI pulled away with some lethal shooting with 5 of the 6 players connecting from beyond the Arc. some solid D sealed an 13 point win for SBI. Trinity, Spartans, SBI and Looney Kangaroos proceeded to the Semi finals anfter a series of games. In a physical semi Spartans overcame a solid looney Kangaroos team who missed a lot of shots in the 2nd half to allow Spartans an easy win. In the 2nd Semi SBI pulled out an early lead over Tinrity but Trinity fought back with a series of 3's. With SBI up only 2 with 30 secs on the clock Pat hit a big 3 to seal a 5 point win. SBI and Spartans matched up in the semi. In a veryt physical encounter SBI went in with a 2 point lead. Into a clos 2nd half Phi taylor went off pulling down huge rebounds and drilling shots from allover the court. A dunk from Big Shane and jumper from Phil sealed a 4 point win and the silverware and prizes for SBI.

Belfast

SBN day two started on a fantastic warm day in Ormeau Park in Belfast. There were 6 teams on the day battling for the final 2 spots at the SBN finals in Dublin. Favorties on the day were the Hoop Stars tem who were stacked with Scottie Summersgill, Dawsy, Fergal Toner, Chris Butler and Ciaran McVeigh. They won their first game Vs the Lithunain team easily shooting the lights out. Next big Dave T's Jordanstown team took on the dublin Dragons and the boys from Jordanstown took the win, Paul Dick had a big game and continued to kill it throughout the day. Shuna from Dublin beat the Lithunian team who then lost to Dragoons and Hoop Starts beat Jorsanstown in a tight game to set up the finals. Shuna beat Jordanstown by 4 so Shuna faced Hoops stars in the final. After a tough 1st half Hoop stars led by 4. Some big buckets from Chris Butler and fast breaks from Dawsy helped Hoop Stars pull away for the win. So Hoop Stars took 1st place and the silverware wile shuana also qualified for the Dublin finals.
